Your upper body should remain upright as you release the disc. Whether you choose to release from a lower position or from a standing position, your back should be kept relatively straight.
As your back remains straight, you should be able to keep your eyes up and focused on your receiver. Dropping your head at the point of release or just before is a costly error committed by throwers who lose sight of their targets, often just at the moment when the cutter decides to discontinue the cut, or a poacher steps into the lane. Maintaining eye contact with your receiver is one of the thrower's most significant responsibilities.
