Dan Cogan-Drew has been playing competitive ultimate since 1990. After captaining the Wesleyan University college team his senior year, he went on to play open division club ultimate in New England with Cool Moose Cafe (1993) and in Georgia with Chain Lightning (1995), before moving to Rhode Island to play with Snapple (1996-8). He later played a season with New York Ultimate in 1999.He has played at worlds with Chain Lightning in 1995, Snapple in 1997 and with Boston's Death or Glory in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He has been on the DoG fall roster since 2000. Dan has founded two high school teams in Georgia and Connecticut and coached Wesleyan University's open team for two seasons. He is currently in his third season as the coach of the MIT open team. He has written articles on college ultimate and coaching for the UPA newsletter and for World Ultimate Magazine. Dan has made the creation and analysis of ultimate videos a regular part of his coaching at MIT. Professionally, he is a former high school English teacher with an MA in English and a BA in English and Spanish. He is currently working part-time towards an MA in Educational Studies, studying the use of the videopaper in teacher education and new teacher mentoring. He is currently the Director of Technology Projects in the Department of Education at Tufts University, where he directs the use of the videopaper in the Teacher Education Program.
